Yes, Michelle, and all other scandinavian knitting afficianados, are compatriots of this danish knitting girl. I am currently obsessed by my danish heritage. No doubt this too shall pass, but in the meantime, here is an example of my Tante Anna's counted cross stitch work: a pillow given to my mother back in, oh, 1966 if I remember rightly.
Part of the reason why I am writing about this is because I have little to share in the knitting department. I discovered an absolutely horrendous mistake on the left front ljod, and had to rip BACK TO THE GUSSET!!! @#!^~\ (as they used to say)! Sigh...
But I've knitted it back almost to the armhole during a weekend visit to the foggy Santa Cruz mountains to visit my dear friends Linda and Celia, with whom I've kept in touch for thirty years! It was our first visit at Celia's house, and we just talked non-stop! Here is a picture of Celia's cute little house, soon (unfortunately) to be sold...Those little mountain houses are few and far between. For a time it seemed as if it were going to be a new trend, but...well...I'll miss it: Here's a nice picture of Celia's piano:
And also one of her dog, Petunia:

What a beautiful pillow! Could it be Crewel embroidery?
I hope you enjoyed your trip to the Santa Cruz Mountains. The trees are so beautiful there.
