Getting a good picture of this sweater-in-progress was difficult. The yarn is from Britain, some ancient cone of 2-ply yarn, probably more suitable for weaving than knitting, forest-green heathered with siena. I just love it, actually, and am really enjoying twisting it into a fine gossamer web following the Jaeger Nevada cardigan pattern. It knits fairly quickly and the pattern is very easy, everything's done in groups of eleven stitches. I added some stitches on the sides to make it wider, since the needles and yarn I'm using are somewhat smaller than what the pattern calls for. They call for 4.0 mm and I'm using 3.5, knitting the largest size, plus the extra stitches. I'm thinking of it as a decorative, rather than a utilitarian, garment. I'll keep trying to get a picture that reveals its true rich color. At least this shot shows the pattern and near-laciness of the product.
As some of you may know I'm writing a novel that takes place in Nevada, yet it was sheer serendipity that this happened to be the Jaeger pattern I liked best to knit up with one of my skinny British yarns. I have several other cones on hand to play with, in future. Also, surprisingly, my husband just loves this pattern, and every time he sees me working on it he says, 'Beautiful!' That's kind of nice!

Rich, lush theme-laden cinematography, nuanced characterizations, sets, costumes, scenes, and hot but not graphic sexuality, characterize this film that deals with the nature of truth and reality, subjectivity/objectivity and the underground currents of the heart. I haven't read the book, so can't compare, but the film is a must-see. I especially loved its treatment of the craziness of war.
