I haven't written a word to this blog for some time now, but that's only because a lot has been happening. For one thing, I've been taking a wonderful watercolor (wet-on-wet) class with Kate Weese for three weeks. Her work is beautiful, but it isn't well-represented on the web. But anyway, this persimmon with pear leaves is something I did in the class. We'll be taking a break over the holidays and will resume in January.
I appreciate getting away from the written word for a while. I find the drawing and painting 'relaxing.' I 'drew' these images in water first, then applied color. It felt liberating not to work with a conventional drawing first. I'm looking forward to doing more of this.
