i've chosen Sylfaed script for self-publishing my mystery novel. it's almost ready to go to the presses, but first it will be 'read-through' by three trusted advisors as well as myself, and then a final go-round of corrections. for one thing, i know there are formatting changes that need to be made. not a lot, but a few.
i'm aware that my product is a 'first novel' and not one that has been groomed at an expensive story-teller's spa, but i did have the privilege of a top-rate groomer working on the puppy, even if in down-beat conditions, and she was very helpful.
Right now I'm reading up on desert flora, because I want to name plants by their correct names. my time spent in the desert was occupied by absorbing the environment, and although i learned this and that about the geology, flora and fauna, i am enjoying the opportunity this book gives me to learn more about this very special bio-region.
the great basin has meant a great deal to me, it really helped me to make my transition to my life here in california, where i am 'not native fruit.' that's why i wanted to write a book set in the Nevada desert.
