i've just been reflecting how glad i am to have been living in the same place for thirty-five years. i feel like i know so many features of the land, so many trees, that it is almost like it was for me in the place where i grew up, where i knew so many places and plants. where i was 'native fruit.'
i had a lovely day on monday up at the home of a new friend, who lives high up in the berkeley hills (or perhaps it is Kensington) with a view that spans the entire Bay from San Jose to Sonoma County - at least it looks that way. We had showers while I was there, and all sorts of lovely clouds. Their home, which belonged to her parents (her father was a professor at UCB) is surrounded by a beautiful well-tended garden.
i've been away from this site so much lately because i am in the process of creating a new website for one of my spiritual communities. it will have a magazine-style format. i'm using typepad, because i know how the system works and they offer really attractive templates. the site looks good! i will publish the link and tell you more about it when we are ready to launch.
