the light is like a spider.

it crawls under your eyelids
and spreads its webs there -

the webs of your eyes

I decided to include this poem because I like what I see as Stevens' awareness of our complete interconnectivity with the world of nature: the union of the senses with the objects of sense. The way our senses evolved, somehow, in a relationship with their stimulants.
Wow. Love this. Must go read more by this poet.
