By the way, 'the stoa' simply means 'the porch.' So, the stoics were actually 'the porchists.' Yes, I can see that: someone sitting on the porch, or in the shade of an arbor, thinking things over, simply reflecting, enjoying the bliss of pure being on a Sunday afternoon. The 'early porchists' would agree with that view.
